Currys.digital and Currys Superstores have chosen DriveSentry GoAnywhere antivirus software to protect their customers from malware and internet based threats whenever they use a removable device. The security software will be sold by the leading electrical retail chain after DriveSentry recently revealed it had detected one million internet viruses, including trojans and other malicious codes, which can play havoc with hi-tech consumer products.

DriveSentry GoAnywhere antivirus security software protects all removable devices from being infected with malware and other threats. This is possible thanks to a unique Tri-Security combination of whitelist, blacklist and an online advisor that only allows trusted applications and files to access removable devices. The personal data protection product is unique in the way it protects disks no matter which system they are connected to. Currys.digital and Currys Superstores became the second major stockist for the software after PC World, which announced a partnership on April 3, 2008.

DriveSentry GoAnywhere works by connecting to an advisor server, which holds the identity of over a million whitelisted, blacklisted and community-based files.. In the event of an unknown file or application being detected that is not on the DriveSentry server the user is immediately warned. As the user base increases, a greater range of statistics and data appears on the server.

DriveSentry GoAnywhere will retail at Currys.digital and Currys Superstores for £19.99 as a boxed product containing a CD with the software. It will also be available half price when purchased with any external hard drive portable hard drive or portable storage device.
